Architecture and software engineering services provider Hughes Systique (HSC) is collaborating with virtual network computing (VNC) technology provider RealVNC for a set of MirrorLink and VNC enhanced-based products and applications.
RealVNC advocates open standards, and has published the VNC protocol, which is a core component of the MirrorLink standard, over 10 years ago. The company is technology agnostic and readily embrace complementary standards such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
VNC Automotive includes VNC Telematics, VNC Enhanced and the RealVNC MirrorLink Certified solution, which can be paired with a car using a mobile device, enabling mobile devices to perform a number of different functions within the car.
Tom Blackie, Vice President Mobile at RealVNC, said: “We are pleased to be working with HSC to bring MirrorLink and VNC Enhanced to more vehicles. As trusted MirrorLink specialists, our combined partnership with HSC helps achieve a quick time to market, allowing thousands of drivers to benefit from MirrorLink connectivity.”
Ajay Gupta, SVP Business Development at HSC, said: “We are excited to partner with RealVNC to deliver cutting edge connected car solutions. RealVNC is an industry leader in the connected automotive space and provides some of the best and most widely used software solutions based on MirrorLink. RealVNC’s leadership position in the connected-car space, combined with HSC’s expertise in creating and customizing solutions for the automotive industry, is a powerful partnership.”
