Developer for Nissan app copied from StackOverflow

A developer working on the NissanConnect EV app has been caught using code from StackOverflow instead of writing it himself.
StackOverflow is the world's largest Q&A resource for developers, and this programmer certainly isn't alone in claiming "inspiration" from code posted on the site. His mistake, like those of many school kids around the globe, was copying its entirety without sufficient changes to hide the wrongdoing. So much of the code from Stack Overflow was used that some text appeared in the live version of the app...

If the developer was building his own small app – it wouldn't have mattered as much – but the fact it's for an app which controls a car makes it potentially more damaging for the brand. NissanConnect EV only provides limited functions to assist management, but as vehicles become autonomous you need to have faith the developers are capable of writing their own code.
Furthermore, you'd at least think a company like Nissan would feature a robust QA (Quality Assurance) process to ensure such mistakes are caught before they're pushed live.
