Connected car platform and telematics provider Zubie has gained $6 million (£4.1m) in additional funding with Melody Capital Partners and OpenAir Equity Partners among the VCs involved.
The funding has been drawn up in order to support scaling towards satisfying increasing demand for Zubie solutions at enterprise customers, expand operations and staff and improve the core Zubie and ZinC Open API platforms while also boosting innovation. Castrol innoVentures, Comporium, Nokia Growth Partners and Magna completed the financing round.
Since its inception in 2012, Zubie has struck deals with top-tier insurance carriers, large and small-business fleet operators, and mobile carriers, who have made use of Zubie's tailored telematics solutions to support their businesses and boost their customer acquisition and retention. The company also continues to lead telematics solutions innovation for the automotive dealer and service industry through its partnership with Castrol innoVentures.
Zubie's know-how in combining its cloud platform, vehicle and driver data analytics, and aftermarket OBD-based devices has been able to meet the requirements of enterprise customers in several vertical industries and is also playing a key role in fostering telematics data monetization. Since the launch of its ZinC Open API platform, the company has drawn to itself a wide variety of developers and partners creating apps leveraging Zubie's platform and vehicle data.
